hi there, leftyjim. i used to camp at oakdale park in glen rose. you're right. it's a really nice place. my husband and i will be camped at the rv ranch just south of ft worth on i-35w. it's quiet, too, and is about 45 minutes from winternationals (interstate all the way.)

if any of you decide to camp in glen rose at oakdale park, you might want to visit nearby dinosaur state park. also, one of the best barbecue places in tx is in glen rose. i can't remember the name of it (it's not hammonds), but it's just on the left (in an old building that has wagon wheels out front)as you go into glen rose. mmmmmmmm!!! and their banana pudding!! we drive over to glen rose at least once each winter just for the barbecue.
