I don't know the answer of whether our piss effects deer. But last year during the rut, I sat in a stand all day long. Mid-day, I took a leak off the stand. I didn't see any deer come thru until the last 30 minutes of light. 5 came from the brush about 60 yds away going somewhat away from me. 2 does turned 90 degrees and made a bee-line to my stand and commenced to smell the piss. They then spent 5 minutes browsing on acorns and then proceeded to follow the others. No alertness, no snorting, nothing.
I know I've hunted Ft Bragg in NC and with GI's training and I'm sure taking a leak all over, the deer were still there. My opinion for what it's worth is, that pissing in the woods scaring deer is over-rated. (your results may vary)
