In Minnesota 6 month old fawns breed in December. That's the case in most northern areas, especially if the buck:doe ratio is way out of wack. Take a look at the MN Conception Dates Graph on my website, it should help explain breeding during the rut.
During Dr. Marchinton's study they found that does recycled from 21-30 days, with an average of 26 days. One doe came into esturs 7 times, the last time would have been in April.
