This is one situation where I condone violating the law and any hunter's code.

If you can do so without damaging property and/or getting shot, go retrieve that deer. A trespassing fine is a minor consideration.

If you were to challenge the citation in front of the right judge, and you expressed that your ethics and consideration of the animal subordinated the trespass issue, the judge might dimiss the ticket.
