Cayugad-The scope is a Bushnell Banner 1.5-4.5 power shotgun scope. It'll have to do until I can afford an upgrade (not anytime soon). Right now, my best shooting is 1.5" groups @ 100yds w/250gr shockwaves and 80grains FFFG triple 7. It also likes 250grain Hornady XTP's. I've gotten mediocre results with Winchester Platinum tips and 295 grain Powerbelts. Haven't tried anything from Barnes, yet. Testing is still ongoing, though. I don't think I've even stared to tap into this guns potential yet.
I mounted the same scope on my Thompson Center Black Diamond XR and although the scope was low dollar end, there is no way I will change that scope out. In fact a couple season's ago a fellow stopped by my deer stand and was of course wanting to talk. He noticed I had a muzzleloader (during the modern season). He then asked if he could look it over which I allowed. He looked through the scope and commented that I must have spend a fortune on that scope because it was so clear and gathered light so well. When I told him what it costed he did not believe me. They are a real good scope.
The best group I ever shot with the Black Diamond XR was shooting 375 grain Buffalo Bullet SSB's on 100 grain of Goex 2f. At 100 yards all three shots formed a clover leaf. I've never repeated that group but came close a few times. My rifle also shoots the 250 grain shockwaves with 110 grains of loose Triple Se7en 2f excellent. Actually my Thompson Center will shoot about anything I stuff down it. They really are a great rifle.
