Seattlesetters-Actually the 7mm weatherby mag produces about 100 to 150 fps more than the 7mm rem mag with equal bullets.The 270 wby mag obviously throws the same weight bullets slower than the 7mm wby mag.If you load the 7mm rem mag and 270wby mag to the same pressures(with the same barrel length) the 270's advantage will be at most 100fps and usually less.

Stubbs - I stand corrected. But I would still take the greater SD of the .277 bullet launched 100fps faster out of a .270 Wby Mag over the 7mm Rem Mag. On game, though, I'm sure there will be absolutely no difference between the two, and the ammo for the 7mm Rem Mag will be a heck of a lot cheaper!
