IMO the 223 is the sweetheart of .224 diameter bullet launchers.

I've owned six of these and they all shot superbly and the ammo is a snap to reload and cases are availably very inexpensively.

Velocities rival (but do not equal) the 22-250 so much so that shooting P-dogs, one don't really have much loss going from one to the other.

The .223 is the finest varmint round in .224 caliber I've ever owned and I've owned the Swift, 22-250, 225 Winchester and the 222. It can handle 40 grain bullets to 3,800'/sec and 50 grain bullets to 3,400 and that ain't whistling Dixie!!!

IMO if you need something more than a .223 you need to look to a larger caliber.
