RE: hawgs limited scents
Well, let me tell you about my experience with this stuff. Me and a friend ordered the 4 oz. package set back in september, we live in Louisiana and bow season opens for us Oct. 1st. Well, I tried making some mock scrapes in 3 or 4 locations and had very minimal results, just what looked doe and yearling tracks right after I made them, and then nothing. But, my friend made on at his spot and when he went back a week later there was another scrape made within 20 yrds from his, and he claims that in his area he has never seen the bucks start scraping before mid november. Well, not giving up hope, I decided to save what I had left for when I found a real scrape to put it in. As luck would have it about 2 weeks before our muzzleloader opener I found two fresh scrapes side by side and 2 rubs where the deer were coming out of a 3-4 yr old clearcut to eat white oak acorns. But like a dummy, I didn't have my stuff with me, so I had to wait until the following week to doctor it up, wich was one week before muzzleloader. Opening morning of muzzleloader I was set up and ready, right at daylight I had a deer come in, and I thought it was a doe(it was so early that it was still pretty dark in the woods, and the horns were chocolate colored) until it started hooking a fair sized sapling, so having to make a quick decision, shoot or not shoot I went ahead and took the shot. When I found it, it was a 4-point. This is on public land by the way, Anyway, before I put this stuff out there was only 2 rubs present, now there are about 20 rubs in about a 50 yard area, and the 2 scrapes are absolutely tore up, some of the rubs are bigger than my wrist. I will be there this saturday morning, and I plan to change to the full rut stuff now, I have been putting out the pre/post stuff. Needless to say, at first I was doubting big time, now I'm completely sold on this stuff.
