Actually the sikas in MD are Cervus Nippon Yakushimea, which is a different subspecies than cervus nippon nippon, the type, or Japenese sika. They are the second smallest sika species. Due to the Asian deer farming and Antler trade there are very few sikas in captivity that have not been interbred with other species, but yours Bullmoose look to have some Dybowski's (C. n. hortulorum) or Manchurian in them maybe.... hard to tell without pics of Daddy.
