RE: Anyone use a Hornady 165 Interbond in a
Iused that bullet in my 300 wsm in front of 66 gr of H4350.I only ever killed one deer with that combination.I hit a doe in the front of the chest as she was facing me.When I dressed her,I found the bullet lodged under the skin near her tail.I didn't weigh it but it was a perfect mushroom and it reatained alot of weight.I though the bullet performance was excellent considering the fact that went through one shoulder and most of the one hindquarter.Surprisingly the deer ran close to 75 yards befor dropping.
I just worked up a load using 150 gr interbonds for my .308.I plan on seeing how they perform on deer this year.
Ikilled a bunck of deer with 180 gr sst's in front of 64.5 gr of H4350 and my 300 wsm.In every case it was a bang/flop.Most never even twitched.I never recoved any of those bullets because the deer were always broadside.
I think the interbonds are a winner, especially out of higher velocity rifles.I've had good luck with accuracy in a couple of my rifle but the 300 wsm hates the 180 gr interbonds. In factI have a mostly full box that I'd give away. It's actually surprising because that rifle shoots the 180 gr sst's with exceptional accuracy.
