Default RE: do nylons work keeping you warm?

True polypropeylene long johns socks, and glove liners like fleece DO NOT ABSORB MOISTURE. Wipe it off with your hands and keep going. The principle of poly pro is to wick moisture away from your body and crearte and preserve a precious layer of air around the body. Alone though they will not provide warmth but assist in maintaining.

When I climbed Mt Baker in Washington State the first time, I wore my first set of poly pro. When I took my wool sweater off the moisture beaded up on my poly pro top. I wiped the moisture away and it presented no problem. Of course expedition grade will be much better in very cold weather.

I have not tried poly pro in below zero weather but I may get a chance on the opener of the Late Archery Elk Hunt November 20.
