Seems like a lot of endorsements for slate type calls. I think, as a new hunter, that a box call should be in your arsenal. They're pretty easy to work. I have two, a Quaker boy Grand Old Master and a Primos Lil' Heartbreaker. A pushbutton works well, too, and is easy to master.
