Look for a good, used 25-06. I'm not a big Savage fan myself, so I'd rather hold out for a good used Remington, Winchester, or Ruger than buy a new Savage. You get what you pay for- a Savage that costs $300 brand new isn't going to be near as nice as a $300 used Remington than cost $500+ new.
