I'm looking for a new high powered rifle for a little varmit control around the property. I have a few coyotes hanging around, but I don't have anything but several shotguns and a 22. I want something inexpensive, but not a POS. I've looked at Stevens, Savage, and an ADL. I'm not sure what caliber to get. I don't need a 30.06, but want something big enough to deer hunt with if I ever go to Missouri. It's relatively flat here, and 250 yards is about as far as I trust my shooting skills, sooooo......whadya think? A cheap single shot or should I go ahead and get a bolt action? I've shot a 222 alot, and want something with a little more knockdown power. I am leaning towards a 243 or 25.06....decisions, decisions. It has to fit the budget though, I am getting a new muzzleloader this fall as well.
