losthwy I just bought a NEW 70 feather weight with 11lb trigger this is not my idea of a good trigger and as for adjustment it MUST be done by a gunsmith for safty and reliablity.
As to the the 1st question ask I own ruger 77's remington 700's and winchester model 70's for the money Id go ith a Ruger in 30-06 I prefer this because if you do go after elk youll have a little more gun and with the 30-06 you have a very wide range of bullet choices.. but another choice Id look hard at is the Savage kit guns there accurate and A very good value they just need alittle trigger work like most new rifles these days.JMO as for scope the Leupold varx 1 is a very good scope for the price and has a life time warrenty
