Inherited my late best friends bow....
As some of you will recall, the first part of March my best fishing buddy and I were looking for a stringer of crappie when he passed away of a sudden heart attack. Anyway, I was curious as to how his wife was doing so I called her last night. We spoke for about an hour and she seems to be doing pretty well.
Anyway, during the course of conversation she was telling me about some of the things she's done and what she's done w/ most of his belongings. Out of the blue clear sky, she says "I just have NO idea what to do w/ his bow. Neither of the 2 boys want it and nobody else in the family bowhunts." Then she asks..."Hey, you wouldn't want it would you?"
Folks, I started bawling like a baby right there on the spot. Sentimentally speaking, this really means a lot to me. It's about a 2 or 3 year old Champion but I don't recall what model. We gave each other such a hard time about the bows each other shot. It was a constant source of entertainment for the both of us.
It needs new strings and cables which I will replace. I don't know whether or not I'll even shoot it, but part of me thinks it would be pretty cool to shoot a deer w/ it. At the same time, remembering some of the grief I gave him about shooting such a good bow that the company isn't even in business anymore.......I think that would make him laugh pretty hard, me killing a deer w/ his bow! Ha.....never!!! LOL....anyway, just thought I'd share. Really special to me.
