Fox gets Poult!
Yesterday, May 15th was the last day of turkey season here in GA. I was returning from picking up my new turkey gun and saw a friend that I knew had been hunting. He began to tell what happened while turkey hunting.
He said while calling, two hens came in. All of a sudden they began to look in specific direction and then ran off. He said another hen, in the direction the other two was looking, began to cackle and was really acting up, he couldn't see her. Then a fox ran by him with a very small poult in its' mouth. He said he started to shoot the fox, but didn't.
I have to admire him for not shooting the fox, not to mention the law violation involved. I made a promise to myself a while back not to shoot anything I wasn't going to eat unless it threatened me and I had no choice. However, I'm not geting on the lecturn, in the past I would haven't gotten mad if I saw a fox, bobcat, etc. killing any turkey and would probably have killed it. I just don't have the heart to do it anymore, and as mentioned above, not to mention the law involved.
I like to think I'm a better person for my change of heart.
Just rambling, dog1.
