Default RE: Washington Hunters...Multiple season permits.....

Brush Hunter, you're right...I only remember the liberal hunt-any-season-you-want from hearing my uncle and others talk about it. It would be great if it was still that way, but there are too many hunters and not enough game to go around. However, when I first started elk hunting you could hunt both sides of the state with the same tag. I do remember that although I never took advantage of it. My elk hunting now is mostly in the Little Naches and Taneum units. Went with muzzleloaderlast year, will be going rifle this year, just because the later season fits better with the other hunts I have planned. If I had the time and money this year I would have taken advantage of that multi-season elk permit I drew, and I would have hunted the late muzzleloader season here on the westside, if I wasn't successful killing a spike on the eastside. Good chance I would have bought a bow as well, and hunted the archery season for a week in September. But I've got too many other hunts to do...high buck hunt in September, mule deer in Oregon first part of October, mule deer in eastern wa. for 9 days if I'm not successful on the high hunt, and pheasants in southeast wa. as much as possible in November/December.
