RE: Anybody bowhunt from natural ground blinds?
I have only taken deer from the ground so far. First buck I ever shot was an 8pt. I found some nice fresh scrapes in an area, sat up against a tree an hour later he walked up 10 yds away, I actually got to stand up and whistle an arrow through him. That deer had no idea what happened. Another year I had patterned a small 8pt along a field edge, so I sat 20 yds away tucked into some cedars, like clockwork he came past and went down. Mind you the past 2 yrs I have been skunked on the ground. Lots of close calls but I was either in to close and not been able to move or got busted. Nothing wrong with ground blinds at all, its pretty exciting being eye level and getting so close to them.
