A few years ago I shot a big 10 pointer right at dark.I new the shot was good but could have only caught one lung do to the angle.I decide to wait and get the deer in the morning.A friend and I returned to my uncles farm and found the blood trail right away.He followed it for about 80 yards and you could see where the deer fell and rolled down a hill to a fence.The fence could not have been more than 16 inches high and the buck crawled under it.Than no more blood nothing.We looked all day and never found another drop.I found out a week or so later that a friend of my cousins was coon hunting and found and took the deer.What really ticks me off was my cousin even said he figured it was my deer being I was the only person that bowhunted on the farm. So I know how you feel.
