Pennsylvania Allows Crossbows For Spring Turkey Season


HARRISBURG, PA—The Pennsylvania Board of Game Commissioners has given its final approval to a regulatory change that now allows the use of crossbows during any turkey hunting season within the state. Previously, state law had allowed only disabled hunters with a permanent or temporary permit to use a crossbow during Pennsylvania’s turkey hunting season.
Pennsylvania hunters are reminded that all turkey hunters are required to wear a minimum of 100 square inches of fluorescent orange material on their head, such as fluorescent orange hat, when moving through the woods.
