BG beat me to the punch on the one thing that you want to keep in mind regarding which way your arrow is spinning while in flight; I've shot left helical before and got tired of having to tighten up my field points all the time while practicing.

High-speed photography reveals that arrows don't begin spinning until several feet away from the bow upon release, therefore it makes no difference to compound shooters.
