I would agree with stubblejumper and say you would be better off getting a 40mm instead. The VX-L does allow the scope to sit lower on the rifle but I don't think it's worth the extra money. Just my opinion. Here's a pic North Texan. I'm not big on the looks of these.
I have the VX-III 3.5x10-40mm with the B&C reticle.
They don't do much for me either in the looks dept. Looks like you left your gun in a hot truck and the scope melted. I have never ever cussed my 40mm scopes wishing I had a 50mm FWIW.
