Default RE: Headed to Dawson tonight

Just as KBI-PREZ Said we went to Dawson lake last night. When we got there looked across the lake and seen another boat all lit up, and could hear it's generator. We headed up to the other end of the lake (north). Water was cloudy up there and very shallow, even for my little boat. Wind also gave us fits. Kept having to look for coves to get out of it all. Ended up only boating one 15# and 12# common and a 7#. both had a nice one pull off. About 10pm caught up to the other boat. It was the guy who bought Uncle Dave's boat. He was down at Bill Davis shoot last weekend. He had his wife and daughter out. The daughter had shot a nice 12# common, and that was all that they boated. It is a nice lake with some potential. But you need a fan or really shallow draft boat to get up where they are. We would find some nice bay's and could not get into them. Did some poling too. Lake water ran from clear to murkey. Did not see the numbers we were expecting to see. was off the water at 11:30, got home at 2am. One funny thing, I had installed a new solid pedistal for by back seat. I had a adjustable one and it was just too wobbly. Well about half way through the lag screws pulled out. KBI-PREZ just bout took a header and barely caught himself before him and his new oneida went for a swim. So he had to finish out the night standing and running the outboard on his knees. was good for a laugh. I have the seat bolted down already, ready for when ever..johnny b.
