I've had deer right under my stand and have "spit" on them while having a big old dip of snuff in my mouth. It's comical too, have 'em come in close, they're not shooters and them play with them. Not to be gross but I've spit on deer and have watched the spit drip from their ears. Didn't even spook them either. I'm sure there are aothers that have had deer under them and have spit or tossed something at them to see what their reaction(s) would be.
