Default RE: bolts and points

ORIGINAL: awshucks

!0 Pt: I have some questions about 10 pt arrows, what weight do you folks advise, and are your nocks flat or "moon" type?

I am using Lii"s w/ brass inserts, 100 gr. Slick Tricks, 4" vanes weigh 431 gr. and 5" vanes about 10 gr. more. I like the fact that there is no tuning involved w/ ST's, just screw em on, check em and go. I've got 9 arrows w/ them on, and didn't have one hit out of a 2" target at 30 yds.

Btw: In the latest issue of HBM put out by DJH of the ACF, he has an interesting article on the differences between bolts [6" long] and arrows. He seems to feel very strongly that we should refer to our arrows as such and not call them bolts. I think it has something to do with all archers shooting arrows, but am not sure. I am sure we're all archers!!
We recommend a total arrow weight of 420 or higher. All our bows will shoot better with flat nocks. The tips and broadheads we include weigh 100 grains. I like the Spitfires for the same reason you like the Slicks.
