Up to a week, but keep your powder dry!
No problem to do this as long as you are careful. One hint: don't bring it in to a warm cabin at night or water will condense in the barrel. You can seal the percussion cap with nail polish to keep out water and a balloon or condom over the end of the barrel keeps rain out. Be sure and take the balloon off at night to let it breath.
