Default RE: What Is Your Hunting Load?

i have been using maxi-ball 370 for at least 30 years on whitetail deer.it has never left me down.i use same as you. 80 grs of geox2f,bore button, now, i am shooting the powerbelt 295/348 ,like both.it is a little bit more accurate than the maxi-ball.i like the hollow point bullet so i can load light and enjoy shooting not worrying about recoil .powerbelt is best bullet i have seen in 30 years hunting whitetail buck.

I have a CVA Bobcat .50 with a 1:48" twist. I shot my first animal with it last year (jack rabbit), using 50 grs of Pydrodex or Goex 2f (can't remember which) and a .490 RB. Two weeks later I shot my first big game with it (cow elk) using the same powder but with an 80 grcharge and a 370 grain T/C Maxi Ball. It seems that my rifle likes that 80 grains of powder the best, and I liked the performance of the T/C on my elk. I should draw a muzzle loader deer tag this year, and will most likely shoot the 80 grs of powder and either the RB or the 245 gr Buffalo Ball e-t, depending on which shoots best. I just think the T/C would be a tad bit big for deer.
