You have in your hands one of the best purpose built turkey guns. IMO. It has an overbore barrell .775 that is a 10 gauge bore. I just bought a new 835 this year and Mossberg has put new recoil pads on them and some have ported chokes. My 835 kicks less than my 535( Jawbreaker). Pattern her and see what she likes... mine gun loves Winchester 3.5 supreme elite number 5 loaded with 20z of shot. That gunwill allow you to reach out and touch some birds.
