Dave, you're talking here about the 'phillips screw and the grooved nylon nut' used for elevationadjustment.Am I correct? I've got the same problem with mine.
You can actually turn the phillips screws (mentioned above)even when the largerhex screw is tightened.
Did you guys heat the groovednylon nut and snug it up--was that it?
I would like to get mine fixed too--but like you mentioned, I would hate to bugger up the sight.
