Getting a shot at a trophy quality mulie is much tougher for one main reason, shear numbers. There's simply not as many big mulie in this country as there are big whitetails. And, it is true that whitetail can be patterened easier, but mulie can be patterned!
Whitetail are now being managed in many parts of the country in a way that more mature bucks are now living than ever before. The same can't be said about mule deer. Most of us won't ever even get a chance to see a monster mulie, BUT many of us will at least see a large whitetail!!
