Default RE: Still a 35 yard Turkey Gun

I'm a turkey shooting nut. I mean paper shoots. I put a 28" barrel on my 1100, lengthened the forcing cone and shoot a .675 choke in competition. For giggles, I tried this gun (a barrel only chambered in 2 3/4") with turkey loads. It outshot my 30" straight full choke barrel.

I shot #6 federal turkey loads in 2 3/4" and I CONSISTENTLY get 15+ BB's in the kill zone at 40 yards...and that's with a 2 3/4" load.

At 50yds it's around10 BB's in kill zone.

Lengthening/polishing the forcing cone seems to be the ticket to more dense patterns. I know for a fact that I get a ton less fliers than I used to. I shoot at big papers with this gun...and now my pattern is "patternable". LOL
