RE: Price check:Rem Classic 300
My brother bought one from an older man in North Carolinawho had one new in the box. I think hetraded a remington 742 in 30-06 with a cheap scope on itforthe rifleabout 3 years ago. He had only gave 250.00 for the 742. What a steal.I have shot it and it is really accurate with Weatherby 150 gr. nosler partition factory loads. It will shoot 3 shots in an inch or lessat 100 yards if you do your part. There is one thing I noticed and not sure if it is like it with other classics out there in this caliber. It seems the weatherby factory ammunition shows signs of high pressure when shot out of the remington. I noticed slightly flattened primers and shiny marksaround thehead stamp along with faint signs of brass flow back in the ejector hole. He had shot some remington factory 190 gr. loads before using the weatherby ammoand they did not exhibit the same characteristics. It may just be the way weatherby loads their ammo for the way they chamber their rifles. I know its hot and cant be used in some custom rifles withshort throats and tightchambers.
