I made a few Slate Turkey Calls with strikers last weekend.
One has a Slate surface with a glass soundboard under it and the other is a Slate surface with a slate soundboard nder it.
These were fun and really sound good! So good that a co-worker of mine bought the the one with the glass soundboard. The pots are made from Red Oak and Maple. The Strikers are Maple and Walnut.



Thenext one is for me: Bocote Slate/glass with a Tulipwood striker that has a cherry handle.

This one is for the local Chief of Police: Maple Slate/Glass - Double sided with a Paduk striker.

The Glass side has a definite higher pitch to it.
