RE: Help me find/choose my last shotgun PLEASE!!!!!!!!
Dad has a Remington 11-87 premier. He does not use it. I do!!
I like it because I can drag it through the rain and mud and it keeps right on shooting.
If you would like a "spiffy" line, you could try the 11-87 gold premier.
My "well heeled" uncle belongs to a gun club that costs a "few thousand" per year in memberships... IF you can get in. Membership is be invitation ONLY. rather snooty crowd! well anyway, to make a "long story short" he uses an 11-87 gold premier at their skeet shoots. They are using those sweetly boxed, o/u dbl barrel shotguns with three different choked sets of barrels, engraving, etc. all packaged in a beautiful hardwood case, blather, blather, etc.!!!!
They get pissed 'cause he routinely outshoots them (and their $6k shotguns) with his "damn redneck shotgun"!
He also hunts geese and ducks like a fiend. He uses this same 11-87. He pretty much swears by it.
as do two of my cousins that hunt with him with there own 11-87's
My uncle was a "goose-guide" for a number of years on the "eastern shore". He tried numerous guns... he settled on the 11-87... oh well, guess you see where I stand on shotguns!
IF it ever jambs. I can field-strip the whole gun in 45 seconds without ANY tools. wipe it off with my t-shirt, stick it back together, and start shooting again!
