One thing not to be overemphasized from another rookie turkey hunter: If you hear one gobble and go to set up on him, don't get too close. Also, it is hard to tell how far one is away when gobbling. He could be facing away from you and sound farther away. I once walked right underneath a gobbler, figuring it was much farther away than it really was. I would think it best to be conservative on approach...
