Default RE: dangerous game rifle ?

I definetly will. I have just been reading a bunch on the big bore forum and trying to take it all in and form a more a more solid foundation about this class of cartridges before I go to the "experts". Those guys are big gun fanatics.
Well, it is handy thatmany "over there" are so called big gun fanatics.... that knowledge can be useful; however, more central to answering your question as posed is that a bunch of them have been to Africa and done it, dangerous game and DGR bigbores, not justthe more common "on the ranch" plains game hunt in South Africa with sub-375 weaponry or (worse yet) attempts at extrapolating whitetail/elk/moose experience-rifles/cartridges into an answer, as is common here. This latter element of DG and DGR'sand experience inAfrica is theaspect of your original question that glaringly stands out as unanswered.

[Note: Also interesting that the discussion of your "DGR question"has dwelled so much on cartridge and so little on rifle.]

[Note: From a business stand point I believe you will find some of the highest paid gunsmiths are those who have a reputation for excellence in working on DGR's for clients that go to Africa --- not a bad place to be.]
