To many variables to give a definite yardage. I have shot two or three at 40 yards and missed one last year at 47. Actually I skinned his brisket enough to put tallow on one blade of the broadhead. I didn't have time to range and guessed wrong. BUT, given time I see no problem shooting 50 yards. That said, I've passed up a lot of 30 and 40 yard shots waiting for something better that never happened. It is frustrating to have the biggest deer you ever had a chance to arrow at 33 yards broadside feeding. You let the shot go just knowing you're going to get a slam dunk in about 30 seconds. Then the bow gods take their revenge on you for your arrogance and the deer is gone without a shot. But, it was one of the coolest defeats I've ever had. I'd do it again just to watch the outcome unfold. It's called hunting.

Anyone can kill a deer. Getting screwed is just priceless.[8D]
