Need some suggestions, pls
I currently shoot a Benelli Montrofeltro 12ga, 3 inch for turkey hunting and have been successful. However, here is what i don't like about it. The gun is very long with a 28 inch barrel and a long stock (dont' know overall, but it is long and cumbersome). Second, it is glossy, with beautiful wood, both characteristics that aren't great for turkey hunting, not to mention an expensive gun for beating around in the woods. I have resisted getting a new one, but my only other choice is a wingmaster, which would be great, but it is 2 3/4 inch w/ a 26 inch barrel, gloss finish, so not much better.
I guess my question is, what would be a good choice for me given what I described above as the things i don't like? I don't want to spend a lot of money on a tureky gun, but i don't want bare bones junk either. I believe 3 inch is fine for me, though would not rule out 3 1/2 since it can shoot both. I believe a short barrel would be very appealing, but i don't know how short to go. any advice is appreciated.
