You are reading stuff in to my post that is not there. Go back and start with line five where I said " If a guy wants one, they are out there. I didn't say NEED or DO NOT NEED. MOST people will never and should never be taking a poke at an animal at 500-600 yards. A few can but damn few. I can count the times on one hand that I was required to take shots at that distants. Of course I didn't need to then but the animals were already hit. Its fun to shoot long range at targets but for me it ends when shooting at game animals. If that makes me less of a hunter then so be it. I will always believe that the 7 Rem Mag has all the range that most hunters can use. Moose will usually walk off no matter what you hit them with. They won't go far but I have seen them soak up three or four 300 Mag rounds and act like they were not even hit. Dead on their feet but unimpressed by the hit.
