Anytime a food based product will not work, or if you have a dominant boar in your area, sow in heat and dominant boar work excellent. The scents also sterilize an area around a blind and calm down wary hogs. I and many of my customers have killed many a boar with a drag rag or just a spray. Hogs that stop going into traps get caught in the trap when you hang a tampon or sock in the trap with sow in heat. I have had many trappers switch from corn to sow in heat.
