My cameras are all digital. There are two batteries used, one for the control board and the other for the camera. The camera uses two AA batteries that I usually change when I check the camera. Battery life will vary, but you should get two or three hundred on a fresh set. I use rechargeables and change them every month or so.

The board battery is a 9 volt, and lasts 6 to 9 months, usually the entire season. This is for the P41LE from www.trailghost.comMy Penn's woods is the same camera and the board takes 4 c batteries that last the hunting season.
