Saskatchewan Proposal Would Require Nonresident Bird Hunters To Hire Outfitters
SASKATCHEWAN, CANADA—A highly controversial proposal by the Saskatchewan Outfitters Association would require all nonresident bird hunters—including waterfowl hunters—to hire a licensed outfitter before hunting anywhere in the province. The group says the proposal stems from the belief that illegal outfitting is occurring within the province by nonresidents, and that nonresidents are leasing lands for hunting and precluding resident hunters from using them.
The proposal, if approved by the Saskatchewan government, would take effect in 2007. Comments on the proposal can be sent to the Saskatchewan Department of Wildlife via e-mail at: [email protected].
What kind of BS is this ? I've never had difficulty finding a lake on a map , I sure don't need a paid stooge of the goobermint finding it for me . It isn't bad enough that they hassle us about bringing guns across the border , now we have to hire babysitters too ? No thanks Saskatchewan , I believe I'll just spend my money somewhere else . [:@]
