The big advantage that i see in the 3.5 inch shell is more pellets in the kill zone, but you can also do the same thing with a good choke and patterning your shot. Im sure you can find an aftermarket synthetic stock for the gun you have. All that being said i really dont do any of the above, just try to gettem real close where it really doesnt make a difference.
