What has the temps been like? If it has been cold for most of the time it has been dead the possibility of worms and/or bacteria is probably pretty low. Probably lower than a bird shot first thing in themorning, hunting all day with it in your game bag, driving home and cleaning the bird late when you get home or waiting until the next morning to clean it.
