ALF is right about kill twice. Just hunt from a ground stand, wait intil the deer line-up two or three deep and take one shot. Fill the freezer and save on money and time. Of course my .243 can do it also, but everybody likes talking about the .338. I hunt with a .338 because I like the gun, it does the job I ask it to do, and the cheap Tasco socpe, that I bought for $69, puts the bullet where the crosshairs are. Why do you worry about what other people/hunters/shooters do. If that shooter's gun is not working, be kind enough to help him find the problem. Which may be the scope. Otherwise, leave him alone. He is doing the best he can!
