I've had 2 Tasco's fail me! They were both on a .308 Winchester!
I will never buy another one, but I know that you could get a good Tasco or a bad Leupold for that matter!
Propmahn says that 1 in 10 makes the Tasco bad and 1 in 20 makes the Leupold good! If that were true, then the Leupold is a least twice as good as the Tasco! Quality control cost a lots of money and that is where some of the extra cost in quality glass comes from! Stopping a bad scope from ever leaving the factory!
Another cost of quality, is the warranty. I have never had to use the warranty on my Leupold, but I have heard that they are quick to fix or replace your scope. Tasco did replace my broken scope, it only took them 3 months! Hunting season was long over before I got my scope back!
You just can't go wrong buying good glass! To me a cheap scope is a gamble that sooner or later will cost you!
