Still flocked up in this part of PA
I was just out on a call in the country and had my mouth call in brushing up for the upcoming season when I turned a corner at a cut corn field and saw multiple birds. I had a chance to pull over and and watch the antics of the entire flock. I was able to count 46 hens and jakes with a lone long bird making up the majority of the flock...stragglin behind and off to the side was another 9 longbeards. I watched them through my binos I carry just for such an occassion and then proceeded on my way never disturbing the birds.
It was beautiful to see the sun shine off the longbeards whom displayed all their colors the sun could reflect....not one ever strutted and I didn't have my window down to listen but watching them it didn't appear as if any gobbled but then again, why would they?
The season can't get here fast enough.
