Lethal bit of advice don't use digital zoom(well with the models we have tried)and use a tripod or simalr to steady the cam. We have done some camcorder stuff and at times it like someone slipped something in your drink trying to watch the TV. Our biggest problem is "bush talk" when on camera, most come back with 18+ ratings...wives do better with the volume muted is all I'll say.
Did a mock fishing show a few years back while on a flyout, was the funniest thing I have ever seen in my life. Great to relive the moments but hardly show quality film work. It was really a spoof on tv fishing shows but were dead serious about slammin' gators. Had some great footage but mostly was just a raz. Animal housemeetsAl Linder type of thing..lol.
Any way best of luck. I amsure if you guys don't turn into Larry the Cable guy when you say "rolling" and have decent equipment you'll do much better than us.
