I have a "Traditions" Woodsman Hawkins model .50 caliber with 1-66 twist. I found that it likes 70 grains of Pyrodex RS, a .015 100%cotton pillow tick patch (I don't use precut) lubed with bore butter, and a hornady round ball. I think you will be very happy with the way the rifle shoots, and the accuracy of it. It is a great whitetail deer rifle. Stick only to round balls because of the slow twist, and you will be fine out to 100 yards....
